TRICHROME AURA

18 x 24 in (45 x 60 cm)

Oil on Canvas

Purely abstract rendering envisioned to capture a collage of interspersed colors, a vibrant aura of sorts, often implicated in migrainous symptoms. Cortical spreading depression is a complex phenomena that involves dramatic fluctuations in neural and vascular function and considered one of the many proposed underlying mechanisms for Migraine with Aura. The visual aura experienced is often described as an explosive collage of light rays and colors, like looking through a kaleidoscope. Extended my creative license here playing with the blending and exploding of colors through the same randomness by which impaired neuronal transmission occurs in cortical spreading depression
